In-Practice Ultrasound Training – Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all in-practice training services provided by Skill Vet Scan.
By confirming a booking, the client agrees to the following terms.
1. Definitions
“Skill Vet Scan” refers to the training provider delivering ultrasound education and related services.
“Client” refers to the veterinary practice, organisation, or individual making the booking.
“Training Day” refers to any in-practice course, workshop, consultation, or ultrasound support session delivered by Skill Vet Scan.
2. Bookings
2.1 All bookings are subject to availability and are only confirmed once accepted in writing by Skill Vet Scan.
2.2 Skill Vet Scan reserves the right to refuse or decline bookings at its discretion.
2.3 The client is responsible for ensuring that all information provided at the time of booking is accurate and complete.
3. Fees & Payment
3.1 Fees for training services will be confirmed at the time of booking.
3.2 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, invoices are payable within 14 days of issue and prior to the training date.
3.3 Skill Vet Scan reserves the right to withhold services where payment has not been received.
3.4 Travel, accommodation, parking, or other reasonable expenses may be charged in addition to the training fee where applicable and will be confirmed in advance.
3.5 All fees are non-refundable except where expressly stated within these Terms & Conditions.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
4.1 Cancellation requests must be made in writing via email.
4.2 Where cancellation or rescheduling is requested more than 14 days prior to the training date, payments made may be transferred to an alternative mutually agreed date, subject to availability.
4.3 Cancellations made within 14 days of the training date will incur a cancellation fee equal to 25% of the agreed training fee.
4.4 Cancellations made within 72 hours of the training date will incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the agreed training fee.
4.5 Same-day cancellations, failure to attend, or inability to proceed with the booked session due to circumstances within the client’s control will be charged in full.
4.6 Skill Vet Scan reserves the right to cancel or reschedule training due to illness, adverse weather, travel disruption, insufficient bookings, or circumstances beyond reasonable control. In such cases, liability shall be limited to rescheduling the session or refunding payments already received for the affected booking.
5. Client Responsibilities
5.1 The client is responsible for providing:

Appropriate facilities and working space

Suitable ultrasound equipment unless otherwise agreed
-
Access to patients/animals for teaching purposes where applicable
-
Adequate staffing and support during the session
5.2 The client is responsible for ensuring that all participating staff comply with applicable health and safety requirements.
5.3 The client confirms that all animals used during training are under the care of an appropriately qualified veterinary surgeon.
6. Clinical Responsibility
6.1 Skill Vet Scan provides education and practical ultrasound training only and does not provide a diagnostic imaging or clinical decision-making service.
6.2 Responsibility for all clinical decisions, diagnoses, treatments, patient management, and animal welfare remains solely with the attending veterinary surgeon and practice.
6.3 Training provided by Skill Vet Scan should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional clinical judgement.
7. Liability
7.1 Skill Vet Scan shall maintain appropriate professional and public liability insurance.
7.2 Nothing within these Terms & Conditions excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability which cannot legally be excluded.
7.3 Subject to clause 7.2, Skill Vet Scan shall not be liable for:

Indirect or consequential losses

Loss of revenue, profit, goodwill, or business opportunity

Clinical outcomes resulting from the use or interpretation of ultrasound following training
-
Equipment failure or technical issues outside of its reasonable control
7.4 Total liability arising from any booking or training session shall not exceed the total fees paid for the relevant service.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 All course materials, presentations, handouts, recordings, and educational content remain the intellectual property of Skill Vet Scan unless otherwise agreed in writing.
8.2 Materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
9. Photography & Recording
9.1 Skill Vet Scan may occasionally take photographs or short video clips for educational or marketing purposes.
9.2 The client must notify Skill Vet Scan in advance if they do not consent to photography or recording.
9.3 Clients and delegates may not record training sessions without prior written permission.
10. Data Protection
10.1 Personal information provided during bookings will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.
10.2 Client information will only be used for purposes connected with the delivery of training services and related communications.
11. Force Majeure
Skill Vet Scan shall not be liable for failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure arises from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, travel disruption, illness, power failure, internet failure, government restrictions, or other unforeseen events.
12. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
